Francesca English 1989, New York
Singer-songwriter, musician, composer, and performer from Turin.
After a long discographic journey, she distanced herself from the mainstream music scene, which she considers superficial and culturally impoverished. However, thanks to prestigious collaborations, such as with the Orchestra of the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, experienced in cultural venues of the city (Teatro Carlo Felice, Galata Museo del Mare, LaClaque, La Lanterna, and Stadio Marassi), she discovered quality alternatives, gaining a new perspective.
In search of a way to create music that is human-scaled and respectful of the natural rhythms and spaces of art, she explores new paths with total freedom: from the drunken singing of the piola to musical composition for theater.
In 2017, she joined Teatro Zanzara of Laboratorio Zanzara.
With her recording studio, dedicated to researching vocal expressive potential, she captures voices and fully composes and produces the soundtracks for the performances.
In Umana Fauna, she finally finds fertile ground for authentic, multidisciplinary, and social creative exploration.
